Judgment, Mercy, and Grace

Matthew 7:1 is one of the more misquoted and misapplied verses from the New Testament. An examination of this verse in its context is not talking about excusing us from judging one another. The passage in its entirety discusses the way, and by what standard, we should be judging one another. We must all make judgments and we choose how we make these judgments.  We must always judge each other out of love for their souls. We must not be expecting mercy for our own sins while demanding justice for others' sins.
