Reading about the creation of man and woman in Genwsis 1, 2, and  reading about the marriage relationship in Matthew 19, we see many examples of what God meant for unity to be. Jesus' prayer in the garden, before He left the earth, as recorded in John 17, is a beautiful prayer for unity between the disciples and the church.
