James Chapter 1 discusses the difference between receiving the word, and having the word implanted in us as we mature from first fruits to second fruits. The 2nd Chapter discusses two applications of this mature faith: the willingness to show impartiality to others regardless of their life's condition(s), and showing our mature faith in the works that we do.
