Sermons From Our Minister
This is the time of year when a lot of reviews and assessments are made of the previous year, and goals and resolutions are made for the coming one. For the Christian, especially those who truly want to "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" (2Pet.3:18), such appaisals and objectives become the impetus for spiritual progress. As I pondered these things, several passages came to mind as appropriate. But one really stood out from the rest, 1Pet.1:16, "You shall be holy, for I am holy." Be "holy"- in all things, in every way, at all times. Just be "holy." Of course, questions immediately arose. "What does 'holy' actually mean?" "How is God 'holy' since I/we are to be as He is?" And, "What is essential to being 'holy'?" This lesson seeks to answer those question that we may be "holy" as God expects and requires.
